Music in the Mountains
July in Jackson Hole: Concerts, Cold Drinks & Long Summer Nights

July is when Jackson Hole truly hits its summer stride. The wildflowers are thriving, the days are long, and nearly every evening offers another reason to stay outside. From mountaintop concerts to free music in Teton Village, July is the perfect month to experience Jackson Hole's vibrant summer energy.
Whether you're spending your days exploring Grand Teton National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through the valley, or relaxing downtown, the soundtrack of summer is never far away. This month we're highlighting some of our favorite outdoor music events, local dining spots, and a few helpful tips for navigating the busy season.
Summer's Busiest Month Has Arrived

July is one of the most popular months to visit Jackson Hole, and for good reason. Wildlife remains active, temperatures are ideal for outdoor adventures, and the valley comes alive with festivals, concerts, and community events.
One of the things guests appreciate most about Elk Refuge Inn is our location. We're close enough to enjoy everything happening downtown, while remaining just outside the busiest areas. After a full day of exploring, you'll return to quiet evenings overlooking the National Elk Refuge and Sleeping Indian.

Outdoor Concert Season Is Here
Music lovers are in for a treat this summer. July offers incredible opportunities to enjoy live performances in some of the most scenic venues in the West.
King Concerts at Snow King Mountain
Few concert venues in America can compete with the summit stage at Snow King. Guests ride the gondola to nearly 8,000 feet where national touring artists perform against a backdrop of the Tetons and the National Elk Refuge. The 2026 season features one of the strongest lineups yet and has become one of Jackson Hole's signature summer experiences.
Grand Teton Music Festival
Celebrating its 65th season, the Grand Teton Music Festival brings world-class musicians to Jackson Hole throughout July and August. Classical performances, chamber music, and special community events make this one of the region's most beloved cultural traditions.
Concerts on the Commons
Looking for a free evening activity? Concerts on the Commons in Teton Village features free outdoor concerts throughout July and August. Bring a blanket, grab dinner nearby, and enjoy live music at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
| Local tip: Arrive early, bring a light jacket, and stay for sunset. Mountain evenings can cool down quickly even in July.
Summer Construction & Park Tips
July brings peak visitation to Grand Teton National Park, which means planning ahead can make a big difference.
Construction Updates
Roadwork and heavy traffic continue in portions of the park this summer. To make the most of your day:
- Leave early whenever possible.
- Consider entering through the Moran entrance instead of Moose.
- Drive the park loop "backwards" to avoid the heaviest traffic patterns.
- Plan extra travel time during midday hours.
Skip the Crowds
If Taggart Lake parking and trail access are congested due to construction activity, consider heading north to Colter Bay instead.
Colter Bay offers:
- Scenic lake views
- Boat rentals
- Kayaking and paddleboarding
- Lakeshore walks
- Family-friendly picnic areas
New This Year
Park passes can now be purchased at the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce before heading into the park, helping you save time at entrance stations.
